Media Frenzy has overcome BPY 07!! Just the other night, RTB (Radio Television Brunei) visited us during one of our practice sessions to shoot us for one of their news segments. BPY 07' is always happy to publicize news about our progress leading up to our adventure.. so we got busy as usual with preparations for our club activities and discussion presentations. Jen, as usual, did her magic with photography :D

Traditional Songs-ASEAN Songs Session

Recently, BPY 07' took the time to sit down and sing a long to some of the songs from the Different ASEAN countries that we might be singing on the ship. NL Tuan Hafiy brought his keyboard and showed us what he could do, which was very impressive! We have no qualms for an impromptu performance now, should we have to belt one out :D So we brushed up on songs like "Loi Krathong", "Rambadia", "Hallo Bandung" and of course, our Bruneian Traditional Folk Songs. There was also the odd Rossa song, "Berlaian Jiwa" and some Alley Cats song thrown in.. not sure about the traditional values of those songs.. but we certainly had fun!

There appears to be much singing to be done in this years SSEAYP 2007. 2 Singers required for "We are the World" @ the ASEAN-Japan Youth Summit in Japan and 1 for the recording of a special global warming/ climate change/ environmental awareness song in Thailand. With a talented bunch of people like the BPY 07', the only way to decide who were going to gain the distinct honour of representing our country in these vocal performances was through an AUDITION! so those Hopeful BPY 07's and some of their supporters gathered at AYL Tasha's crib once again, as she has a massive state-of-the-art karaoke set to determine the VOICES to sing to them all. OBSC Dr Fakhri, NL Tuan Hafiy & Abang Azeez our coordinator were the Randy, Paula and Simon for this event.
