Special Olympics 2nd Asia Pacific Bocce Competition

A Kind request from BYL 2005 Meela Aliuddin

Dear BPYs,

I am looking for volunteers for Special Olympics 2nd Asia Pacific Bocce Competition from 18th to 24th August 2008. If you are interested to help out, please leave me a message ONLY at 8773716 – Meela. I need to find at least 40 volunteers to just smooth out the activities. Let me tell you something about the event and association.

Special Olympics Brunei Darussalam is a non-government organisation under Special Olympics International who runs and organizes sporting events and training for our athletes who are intellectually impaired. We are again given the honour to host and organize the 2nd Asia-Pacific Bocce Competition, which will be held from the 18th until the 24th August 2008. Six countries from Asia Pacific will be taking part in this sporting event.

Volunteers are being recruited now to voluntarily help us to successfully run this major sporting event. Part of the volunteers’ role will be:

  1. To help out with our HEALTHY ATHLETES SCREENING for which these volunteers will need to be trained and will be given training prior to the event to help screen the special athletes’ health.
  2. To help out with the technical games side. A one-day training will also be held and given to the volunteers.
  3. To be Liaison Officers for the contingents/countries who will be participating in this event.
  4. To help out with various other committees such as secretariat, refreshment, accommodation and others. (Some of the volunteers in these committees may be required to help out 24 hours of the day or at least from the time the athlete wake up till they sleep i.e. 6 a.m. – 12 midnight)

Anyone interested and who can commit themselves during this period, please do not hesitate to contact me. For now, however, volunteers are needed to fulfil role No. 1.

May god reward you for volunteering and helping to make this event a success. Thank you from the working committee for the Special Olympics 2nd Asia-Pacific Bocce Competition.

Yours truly,

Meela Aliuddin J

Breaking News: BPY 07 adds new YL

(As reproduced from Ms Chia I-Ling, Roving Reporter from the SPY Times on Behalf of CNN :D)

Singapore, 14 Jul - SYL 07 Kamal Shaari was spotted onboard a Royal Brunei Airlines flight last weekend, making his way to a neighbouring country where SGD is interchangeable with the local currency. According to first-hand sources, he appeared unusually fidgetty, and complained of having an eye-popping headache to the passenger next to him. The FB SPY Times brings you the details, complete with exclusive photos.

SYL Kamal looking intently at the monitor showing the flight path of the RBA plane, to make sure that he was on the right track.

Tell-tale signs started appearing mid-air, and became more evident as the plane approached the Brunei International Airport.

First Bruneian Social Event as a Couple :D

The following afternoon, Kamal was seen refuelling himself with the local cuisine ambuyat before facing the panel.

Unfortunately The FB SPY Times was unable to get close to Kamal most of the time the following day due to other distractions in beautiful Brunei. However, he was spotted again at the Brunei International Airport in the evening, looking more like his usual relaxed self. And of course with a blissful looking BAYL by his side.

Kamal sharing the latest developments in Singapore-Brunei relations with JYL Ussie and JAYL Panana before the latter headed off to the next stop of their 3-day Amazing Race in Southeast Asia.

Despite their heavy schedule, the beautiful couple, BYL Adai and his bride Izza, made a special appearance at the airport. Also in this photo, SYL Kamal (extreme right) BAYL Tasha (second from right).

Kamal with his COE (Certificate of Engagement), before his flight back to report to his HQ in Singapore.

And Tasha could not hide her smile. Or her stone. (Ok, she was asked to pose for The FB SPY Times...)

Theres Nothing Much Else to Say but Congratulations to the HAPPY COUPLE :D

The Wedding Preparations will be Crazy but Don't Worry- The GREAT AMAHNYA will ALWAYS BE AT HAND TO HELP
